Flap Discs with Plastic Backing Pad are made with aluminium oxide grain and plastic backing plates.
About the backings:
There are two main materials used: fiberglass and plastic.
Fiberglass backing pad could provide better buffer vibration and low noise. It is also lighter weight and have higher strength than the plastic backing.
Plastic backing is becoming more and more popular. It has better toughness. Some manufacturers suggest that the plastic backing can be trimmed to prolong working life. Also, plastic backing pads are available in different colors to make the flap discs distinguished.
- Low noise
- Long service life
- Work short time
- Good elasticity and self-sharpening
- Fast stock removal
- Aggressive inox removal
Flap Discs with Plastic Backing Pad are widely used for surface treatment of metal and weld seams and derusting.
Suitable for the processing of carbon steel, alloyed steel, stainless steel, sheet metal, non-ferrous metals, cast iron, heat treated steels and high speed and tool steels.
There is only flat type (T27) for flap discs with plastic backing pads. Flat (T27) is designed to grind edges and flat surfaces with a
working angle of 0°to 15°degrees.
